Applying divine purification daily?
How can believers apply the concept of divine purification in their daily lives?

The Moment of Purification in Isaiah 6:6–7

“Then one of the seraphim flew to me, and in his hand was a glowing coal he had taken from the altar with tongs. And with it he touched my mouth and said: ‘Now that this has touched your lips, your iniquity is removed and your sin is atoned for.’ ” (Isaiah 6:6-7)

Why This Matters Today

• The altar coal symbolizes God’s decisive, gracious act of cleansing.

• Isaiah’s lips—his point of greatest need—are purified so he can speak for God.

• The pattern still holds: God cleanses, then commissions.

Receiving God’s Ongoing Purification

1. Acknowledge His holiness

• “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of Hosts” (Isaiah 6:3).

• A clear view of God exposes anything unclean (cf. 1 Peter 1:15-16).

2. Confess and turn from sin daily

• “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

• Genuine confession aligns us with the truth of His Word (Psalm 51:1-4).

3. Trust Christ’s finished sacrifice

• The altar points to the cross: “How much more will the blood of Christ… cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14).

• Rest in the once-for-all atonement that continues to purify (Hebrews 10:14).

4. Welcome the Spirit’s refining fire

• “He will be like a refiner’s fire… and purify…” (Malachi 3:2-3).

• Yield habits, attitudes, and plans to His sanctifying work (Galatians 5:16-25).

Practical Habits for Daily Life

• Scripture soaking

– “Christ loved the church… cleansing her by the washing with water through the word.” (Ephesians 5:25-26)

– Read, meditate, and memorize; let Scripture expose and rinse hidden sin.

• Guarded speech

– Isaiah’s lips were touched; ours need daily discipline (James 3:9-10).

– Ask: “Will these words reflect a purified heart?”

• Intentional repentance checkpoints

– Morning: dedicate the day.

– Mid-day: quick inventory when irritation or pride surfaces.

– Evening: review the day with Psalm 139:23-24 on your lips.

• Fellowship and accountability

– “Confess your trespasses to one another… that you may be healed.” (James 5:16)

– Transparent community keeps the coal of cleansing active.

Living Sent from a Cleansed Heart

• After the coal came the call: “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8).

• God’s purification frees believers to:

– Share the gospel with integrity.

– Serve without hidden agendas.

– Intercede with clean hands and a pure heart (Psalm 24:3-4).

The glowing coal still burns, cleansing and commissioning all who draw near.
