How can the upright praise God today?
In what ways can the "upright in heart" praise God today?

Knowing the Verse

“Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; shout for joy, all you upright in heart!” (Psalm 32:11)

What Praising Looks Like Today

• Speak it out loud

– Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19).

– Declare His attributes in conversation and on social media (Psalm 96:3).

• Live it out daily

– Obey His commands; obedience is louder than any song (John 14:15).

– Pursue holiness that puts His character on display (1 Peter 1:15-16).

• Gather with the church

– Join other believers to “proclaim the excellencies of Him” (1 Peter 2:9).

– Encourage one another, stirring up praise together (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Meet Him in secret

– Set aside personal time for Scripture and prayer (Matthew 6:6).

– Offer “the sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips confessing His name” (Hebrews 13:15).

• Serve people in His name

– Do good and share; such sacrifices please God (Hebrews 13:16).

– Use spiritual gifts so “in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 4:10-11).

• Celebrate His works in creation

– Pause to notice His handiwork (Psalm 19:1).

– Thank Him aloud for sunrise, rainfall, and every breath (Acts 17:25).

• Tell your story

– Share how He forgave, guided, or healed you (Psalm 66:16).

– Point others to salvation in Christ (Matthew 28:18-20).

• Praise even in pain

– Like Paul and Silas, sing while the chains rattle (Acts 16:25).

– Rejoice that trials refine faith “more precious than gold” (1 Peter 1:6-7).

Putting It into Your Week

1. Start each morning by reading one psalm aloud.

2. Choose one act of unseen obedience as a private offering of praise.

3. Send a note of encouragement that quotes Scripture.

4. Schedule a nature walk and thank God for five specific sights.

5. Share one answered prayer with a non-believer.

“Whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus.” (Colossians 3:17)

How does Psalm 64:10 connect with Philippians 4:4 about rejoicing?
