How can we act to please God like Azariah?
In what ways can we ensure our actions please God like Azariah's did?

Azariah’s Pattern of Pleasing God

2 Kings 15:3 says, “He did what was right in the sight of the LORD, just as his father Amaziah had done.” Azariah’s reign gives a simple yet powerful template for us today.

Seek God Wholeheartedly

2 Chronicles 26:5 records that “as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.”

• Daily pursue the Lord in Scripture and prayer before any other agenda.

• Prioritize gatherings with believers (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Align Every Decision with Scripture

Psalm 119:105—“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

• Weigh plans, relationships, and goals against clear biblical commands.

• When the Word speaks, obey without delay (James 1:22).

Cultivate Consistent Obedience

John 14:15—“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”

• Small acts of faithfulness—honesty at work, purity in thought, kindness at home—please God as much as public victories.

• Track His past faithfulness; it fuels present obedience.

Eliminate Compromises and Idols

2 Chronicles 26:16 warns that later pride ruined Azariah; guard against the same slip.

• Identify modern “high places” (entertainment, possessions, reputation) and tear them down (1 John 2:15-17).

• Replace idols with deliberate worship—singing, gratitude, giving.

Stay Humble and Dependent on the Lord

Micah 6:8—“He has shown you, O man, what is good… to walk humbly with your God.”

• Recognize every skill, promotion, or victory as God’s gift.

• Seek accountability from mature believers who can confront pride early.

Surround Yourself with Godly Counsel

Proverbs 13:20—“He who walks with the wise will become wise.”

• Invite mentors to speak into finances, parenting, ministry, and personal life.

• Listen and adjust; counsel only helps when applied.

Persevere to the End

Galatians 6:9—“Let us not grow weary in well-doing.”

• Finish well by daily confession, weekly rest, and lifelong teachability.

• Keep eternity in view—“Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).

Following these patterns under the lordship of Christ enables us to walk “right in the sight of the LORD,” just as Azariah did.
