How can we change your ways today?
How can we actively "turn each of you from your wicked ways" today?

Setting the Stage

“ When God raised up His servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.” — Acts 3:26

Peter’s words show two inseparable truths: God raises Jesus to bless, and that blessing includes an active turning from sin. The same call reaches us today.

Why Turning Matters

• Sin separates; repentance restores (Isaiah 59:2; 1 John 1:9).

• God’s kindness motivates change, not complacency (Romans 2:4).

• A life turned God-ward becomes a channel of blessing to others (Acts 3:25).

Identifying Wicked Ways

Ask the Spirit to expose anything that clashes with God’s character. Consider:

• Hidden habits (Ephesians 5:11-12)

• Toxic speech—gossip, slander, coarse humor (Ephesians 4:29)

• Sexual impurity—physical or digital (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5)

• Bitterness, unforgiveness, rage (Ephesians 4:31)

• Love of money or possessions (1 Timothy 6:9-10)

• Pride and self-reliance (James 4:6)

Practical Steps to Turn Today

1. Invite God’s Searchlight

“Search me, O God…See if there is any offensive way in me” (Psalm 139:23-24).

• Set aside quiet time with an open Bible and notebook.

• Write down any conviction that surfaces without excusing it.

2. Confess Specifically

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive” (1 John 1:9).

• Name the sin plainly.

• Acknowledge God’s verdict instead of blaming circumstances.

3. Renounce and Replace

“Put off…your old self…be renewed…put on the new self” (Ephesians 4:22-24).

• Stop the sinful action.

• Replace it with Spirit-directed behavior (e.g., replace grumbling with gratitude).

• Memorize a verse that confronts the specific sin.

4. Walk by the Spirit

“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).

• Begin each day asking the Spirit to control your thoughts and choices.

• Stay sensitive to His promptings; obedience strengthens resolve.

5. Seek Accountability

“Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another” (James 5:16).

• Share your struggle with a mature believer of the same gender.

• Agree on check-ins; celebrate victories together.

6. Remove Temptation Triggers

“Make no provision for the desires of the flesh” (Romans 13:14).

• Install filters, change routes, delete apps, or end relationships that lure you back.

• Replace extra time with worship, service, or Scripture meditation.

7. Keep Short Accounts

• Repent immediately when you stumble; don’t let sin harden your heart.

• Remember 2 Chronicles 7:14—turning brings healing.

Resources God Provides

• The Word: “Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11).

• The Spirit: empowering and reminding (John 14:26).

• The Church: teaching, fellowship, correction (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Christ’s Intercession: “He is able to save completely those who draw near…since He always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:25).

Encouragement to Persevere

Turning is not a one-time detour but a lifelong direction toward Jesus. Every decisive step away from wicked ways opens fresh space for His blessing, just as Acts 3:26 promises. Keep turning, keep trusting, and watch Him shape a life that reflects His holiness and joy.

How does Acts 3:26 connect with God's promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3?
