How can we clear paths for the Lord?
In what ways can we "make straight" paths for the Lord in society?

The Call to Prepare the Way

“A voice of one calling: ‘Prepare the way for the LORD in the wilderness; make straight a highway for our God in the desert.’ ” (Isaiah 40:3)

Personal Alignment: Straight Paths Start in the Heart

• Repent quickly when the Spirit convicts (Acts 3:19).

• Submit every plan to Him—“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:6).

• Guard daily habits—Scripture, worship, fellowship—so nothing crooked nestles in.

Public Witness: Proclaiming and Living the Gospel

• Share Christ openly; John the Baptist’s cry still echoes (John 1:23).

• Let speech be seasoned with grace and truth (Colossians 4:6).

• Demonstrate the gospel through consistent integrity at work, school, and online.

Upholding Truth in Culture

• Confront falsehood with the light of Scripture (Psalm 119:105).

• Defend life, marriage, and God-given sexuality with compassion and clarity (Genesis 1:27; Matthew 19:4-6).

• Model civil discourse—“speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15).

Cultivating Justice and Compassion

• Actively support the poor, widows, orphans, and the unborn (James 1:27; Micah 6:8).

• Stand against oppression, trafficking, and racism; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne (Psalm 89:14).

• Volunteer where mercy meets need: food banks, crisis-pregnancy centers, prison ministry (Matthew 25:35-36).

Building God-Honoring Institutions

• Strengthen families through discipleship at home (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

• Serve faithfully in local churches; unity adorns the gospel (John 17:23).

• Engage schools, businesses, and governments, bringing biblical wisdom into policies and practices (Daniel 6:3-4).

Intercessory Prayer for Communities

• “Petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men—for kings and all in authority” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

• Pray citywide for revival, asking God to straighten what sin has bent (2 Chronicles 7:14).

• Fast when burdened—prayer clears the debris others cannot see.

Persevering in Holiness and Hope

• “Make straight paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed” (Hebrews 12:13).

• Encourage one another daily; holiness spreads courage (Hebrews 3:13).

• Keep eyes on Christ’s return; His kingdom will consummate every straight path we prepare (Revelation 22:20).
