How can we praise His work locally?
What practical steps help us "extol His work" in our communities?

Setting the Foundation: “Remember to magnify His work”

“Remember to magnify His work, which men have praised in song.” — Job 36:24

God calls His people to keep His deeds in clear view and to make them unmistakably public. The following steps flow from that command and show how we can deliberately extol His work in our communities.

Step 1: Tend the Soil of Personal Awareness

• Schedule daily moments to recount specific works of God in Scripture and in your life.

• Keep a running “works of God” journal; review it weekly.

Psalm 103:2 reminds us, “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget all His kind deeds.” Personal remembrance fuels public praise.

Step 2: Speak His Deeds Out Loud

• Share short testimonies in casual conversations, staff meetings, or neighborhoods gatherings.

• Use social media posts to spotlight what God has done rather than yourself.

Psalm 107:2: “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.”

Step 3: Serve Tangibly, Connecting Deeds to the Doer

• Pair acts of mercy (meals, child-care, yard work, tutoring) with a verbal acknowledgment that the service flows from Christ’s love.

Matthew 5:16: “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Step 4: Celebrate Together in Corporate Praise

• Organize neighborhood hymn-sings, outdoor worship nights, or Thanksgiving services where stories of God’s intervention are shared.

• Encourage spontaneous praise reports during small-group gatherings.

Psalm 66:8: “Bless our God, O peoples; let the sound of His praise be heard.”

Step 5: Weave Testimony into Everyday Rhythms

• Before meals in public places, thank God audibly for His provision.

• When complimented for success, redirect credit to the Lord’s enabling grace.

1 Peter 2:12 calls us to live “such good lives among the Gentiles that… they may see your good deeds and glorify God.”

Step 6: Mentor the Next Generation

• Invite children and teens to join service projects, then debrief how God supplied resources and strength.

• Use drive time or meal time to retell Bible accounts of God’s mighty acts (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

Psalm 145:4: “One generation will declare Your works to the next and proclaim Your mighty acts.”

Step 7: Uphold Truth in Public Discourse

• When ethical issues arise in community forums, graciously state what God’s Word says and how His righteous works shape your stance.

Jeremiah 9:24 urges us to boast “in this, that he understands and knows Me… for I delight in loving devotion, justice, and righteousness.”

Putting It All Together

1. Reflect daily on specific works of God.

2. Speak them openly in conversations and online.

3. Let every service project include a verbal witness.

4. Gather others for times of public praise.

5. Embed testimony into ordinary moments.

6. Pass along God-stories to younger hearts.

7. Stand for biblical truth, crediting every good work back to Him.

By practicing these habits, we obey Job 36:24 and become living billboards of His greatness, inviting our communities to join the song of praise that never ends.

How does Job 36:24 connect with Psalm 145:4 about praising God's works?
