How can we stay active in His house?
In what ways can we actively remain part of "His house"?

Setting the Foundation

Hebrews 3:6: “But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope of which we boast.”

What “His House” Signifies

• A living, spiritual dwelling (Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Peter 2:5)

• A people united under Christ’s authority, not merely a building (Colossians 1:18)

• A household marked by faith, obedience, and steadfast hope (Hebrews 3:14)

Holding Firmly: The Core Requirement

• Confidence – unwavering trust that Jesus is sufficient (Hebrews 10:35-36)

• Hope – joyful expectation of the promises yet to come (Romans 15:13)

• Perseverance – continuing in both, all the way to the finish line (Hebrews 6:11)

Active Ways to Remain Part of His House

• Cultivate Daily Obedience

– “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word” (John 14:23).

– Be a doer, not a hearer only (James 1:22).

• Feed on Scripture

– Scripture equips “the man of God…for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

– Let the Word dwell richly, shaping every decision (Colossians 3:16).

• Guard the Heart Against Unbelief

– “See to it…that none of you has a wicked heart of unbelief” (Hebrews 3:12).

– Take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

• Stay in Consistent Fellowship

– “Let us not neglect meeting together” (Hebrews 10:24-25).

– Mutual encouragement keeps hope vibrant.

• Persevere Through Discipline

– God’s discipline “yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness” (Hebrews 12:11).

– Accept pruning so deeper fruit can grow (John 15:2).

• Practice Faith-Fueled Works

– We are created “for good works” (Ephesians 2:10).

– Living faith expresses itself in action (James 2:17).

• Maintain a Worshipful Posture

– “Through Jesus…let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise” (Hebrews 13:15).

– Praise shifts focus from present trials to eternal realities.

• Pray with Bold Access

– “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence” (Hebrews 4:16).

– Ongoing communion with the Lord anchors the soul.

• Fix Eyes on the Coming Kingdom

– “Since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude” (Hebrews 12:28).

– Hope in future glory fuels present faithfulness (Colossians 3:1-4).

Living Stones, One Structure

By continually trusting Christ, obeying His voice, and encouraging one another, believers remain “living stones” rightly set in God’s spiritual house—secure, fruitful, and steadfast until He returns.
