How can we store God's goodness?
In what ways can we "store up" God's goodness in our lives?

Anchoring in the Verse

“How great is Your goodness which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have bestowed before the sons of men on those who take refuge in You!” – Psalm 31:19

What “Laid Up” or “Stored Up” Means

• A treasure God has intentionally set aside, intending us to draw from it

• A reservoir continually available, not a one-time gift

• Something accessed by those who “fear” Him and “take refuge” in Him—relationship is the key that opens the storehouse

Ways We Actively Store Up God’s Goodness

1. Cultivate holy fear and trust

– Daily choose reverence (Proverbs 1:7)

– Run to Him first in every pressure (Psalm 46:1)

2. Hide His Word in the heart

– Memorize and meditate: “I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:11)

– Saturate life with Scripture (Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Colossians 3:16)

3. Obey promptly and completely

– Blessing is “stored up” on the path of obedience (Deuteronomy 28:2)

– “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22)

4. Practice gratitude and remembrance

– Keep a written record of answered prayer (Psalm 103:2)

– Retell His deeds to others (Psalm 145:4-7)

5. Invest in eternal things

– “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:19-21)

– Serve and give generously (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)

6. Persevere in well-doing

– “Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we will reap” (Galatians 6:9)

– Each act of faithfulness deposits another “coin” of God’s goodness into life’s account

7. Abide in community

– Encourage and be encouraged (Hebrews 10:24-25)

– Shared testimonies multiply awareness of His stored-up goodness

Results of Storing Up His Goodness

• Resilient faith during crises (Isaiah 26:3)

• Overflowing witness “before the sons of men” (Psalm 31:19b)

• Deepening joy that circumstances cannot drain (John 15:11)

• Legacy of blessing for generations (Psalm 78:6-7)
