How can we support God's leaders today?
In what ways can we support God's chosen leaders today, as seen in Psalm 105:26?

The Example Set in Psalm 105:26

“ He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron, whom He had chosen.” (Psalm 105:26)

God Himself initiated leadership by calling and sending Moses and Aaron. Their authority was rooted not in popularity but in divine appointment. That same principle still guides us—God raises men and women to lead His people for His purposes.

Why Our Support Matters

• Upholds God’s design for order in His church and broader society (Romans 13:1–2).

• Enables leaders to fulfill their calling with joy instead of grief (Hebrews 13:17).

• Protects unity, guarding the flock from division and false teaching (Ephesians 4:11–14).

• Displays trust in the Lord, not merely in human ability (Psalm 118:8–9).

Practical Ways to Stand with God-Chosen Leaders Today

• Intercede consistently

– “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone—for kings and all who are in authority…” (1 Timothy 2:1–2).

– Make leaders a regular part of personal and corporate prayer lists.

• Speak encouragement

– Paul urged believers to “encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

– A timely note, text, or word of appreciation counters the discouragement that often shadows leadership.

• Submit with discernment

– “Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who must give an account.” (Hebrews 13:17)

– Yielding to biblically faithful direction frees leaders to shepherd effectively.

• Defend against grumbling

– Israel’s complaints against Moses wearied both leader and nation (Numbers 12; 14).

– Stop gossip at its source; redirect criticism into prayerful dialogue.

• Share the workload

– Moses benefited when others shouldered responsibilities (Exodus 18:17–23).

– Volunteer skills, time, and resources so leaders focus on their primary call: word, prayer, vision.

• Provide materially

– “The worker is worthy of his wages.” (1 Timothy 5:18)

– Faithful giving supplies ministry needs, from personal livelihood to project funding.

Maintaining a Right Heart While Supporting

• Stay rooted in Scripture so loyalty never supersedes obedience to God’s Word (Acts 17:11).

• Practice humility, acknowledging that all authority is delegated by Christ (Matthew 28:18).

• Remember that leaders, like Moses and Aaron, are imperfect and need grace (Numbers 20:12).

The Ripple Effect of Faithful Support

When we uphold God-chosen leaders, churches flourish, the gospel advances, and the watching world glimpses divine order. Our partnership becomes a living testimony that the God who “sent Moses His servant” still directs His people today—and equips us all to be part of His unfolding plan.

How can we discern God's calling in our lives, like Moses in Psalm 105:26?
