How can we trust God's timing for justice?
In what ways can we trust God's timing in delivering justice today?

Setting the Scene in Esther 7:10

“So they impaled Haman on the pole he had set up for Mordecai. Then the king’s fury subsided.” (Esther 7:10)

• Haman’s plot to annihilate the Jews collapses in a single day.

• The very instrument of death he prepared for Mordecai becomes the means of his own demise.

• God’s hand is not mentioned explicitly, yet His sovereign timing is unmistakable—evil is judged at the precise moment it reaches its peak.

Recognizing the Pattern of Divine Reversal

• Throughout Scripture, the Lord repeatedly flips injustice on its head:

– Joseph moves from pit to palace (Genesis 50:20).

– Daniel’s accusers are devoured by the lions meant for him (Daniel 6:24).

– At the cross, Satan’s apparent victory becomes his defeat (Colossians 2:15).

• These reversals remind us that God’s justice may appear delayed, but it is never denied.

How We See God’s Timing in Justice Today

• Justice may unfold in ways we do not predict, but it always arrives right on schedule:

– God exposes hidden sin at the moment He deems best (Luke 12:2–3).

– He restrains evil until it serves His redemptive purposes (2 Peter 3:9).

– He often waits so that repentance remains possible, displaying both mercy and righteousness (Romans 2:4–5).

• Believers can rest because:

– No wrong escapes His notice (Hebrews 4:13).

– No wrongdoer will outmaneuver His plan (Job 42:2).

Living in the Waiting

• Trust actively—commit the matter to the Lord and refuse to grasp for vengeance (Psalm 37:7–9).

• Persevere in doing good, knowing that “at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).

• Guard your heart from bitterness; leave room for God’s wrath, for “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord” (Romans 12:19).

Anchoring Our Hearts in Scripture

Psalm 37:28: “For the LORD loves justice and will not forsake His saints.”

Ecclesiastes 8:11: “When a sentence against a crime is not carried out swiftly, the hearts of men are filled with the desire to commit evil.” The delay tests hearts, but it is never abandonment.

Revelation 6:10–11: The martyrs cry, “How long?” and are assured that full justice is coming in God’s appointed moment.

Galatians 6:7: “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, he will reap in return.”

Encouragement for the Journey

• The gallows of Esther’s day stand as a timeless signpost: God’s justice arrives exactly when it will magnify His glory and protect His people.

• Because His character is flawless, His timing is flawless.

• Every act of trust today declares confidence that the same God who turned Haman’s triumph into tragedy will set every account right—whether in this age or the next.

How does Esther 7:10 connect with Proverbs 26:27 about reaping what we sow?
