How can we "know Christ" more deeply in our daily lives? A Heart Cry: “I Want to Know Christ” “I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death.” (Philippians 3:10) Paul’s desire is personal, passionate, and all-embracing. Knowing Christ is not a one-time event but a lifelong pursuit that touches every part of life. Relationship Over Ritual “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” (John 17:3) • Make time with Scripture the priority, listening for the Lord’s voice rather than merely gaining information. • Invite the Spirit to turn reading into conversation—respond in obedience to whatever He highlights. • Allow truth to shape thoughts, motives, and choices throughout the day. Living in Resurrection Power “...the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe… that power is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead.” (Ephesians 1:19-20) “And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, He… will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11) • Rely consciously on the Spirit for strength to choose holiness, courage, and love. • Expect real change; the same power that raised Jesus animates obedient steps today. • Celebrate victories as evidence that Christ is being known experientially, not just intellectually. Fellowship in His Sufferings “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial… But rejoice that you share in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed at the revelation of His glory.” (1 Peter 4:12-13) • View hardship as shared ground with the Savior rather than as abandonment. • Respond with trust and praise; suffering becomes a classroom where His comfort and character are learned first-hand. • Extend grace to others out of the grace received in trials. Conformed to His Death: Daily Surrender “Then Jesus said to all of them, ‘If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.’” (Luke 9:23) “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20) • Lay down personal agendas at the start of every day, choosing His will over self-interest. • Let old patterns stay on the cross—bitterness, pride, and self-promotion lose their power when reckoned dead. • Move forward in the freedom of a life now animated by Christ within. Practical Daily Pathways to Deeper Knowing • Begin mornings with focused Scripture meditation, even if only a few verses. • Speak with Christ throughout the day, turning mundane moments into ongoing dialogue. • Memorize key passages; rehearsing truth anchors the mind in Him. • Gather with believers who spur one another on toward love and good deeds. • Serve actively; hands engaged in His work experience His heart more fully. • Keep a gratitude record, noting evidences of His presence and power. • End each day reflecting on how He revealed Himself, thanking Him for every glimpse. Reflect and Rejoice Knowing Christ is a journey marked by Word-rooted intimacy, resurrection power, shared suffering, and daily surrender. Persist in these rhythms, and His person becomes increasingly vivid, satisfying, and life-defining. |
