What steps can we take to live in the power of the resurrection? Gaze into the Empty Tomb “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.” (Mark 16:6) The angel’s announcement is more than information; it is an invitation to step into a new way of living. Because the tomb is empty, followers of Jesus can live in the same power that raised Him from the dead. Anchor Your Faith in the Risen Christ • The resurrection is historical fact (Acts 2:32). • Salvation begins by confessing “Jesus is Lord” and believing “that God raised Him from the dead” (Romans 10:9). • His triumph proves every promise true (2 Corinthians 1:20). Trusting this certainty is the first step into resurrection power. Receive the Resurrection Life At conversion God does more than pardon; He imparts new life. • “You were dead in your trespasses… but God… made us alive with Christ” (Ephesians 2:1-5). • The same Spirit who raised Jesus now dwells in believers (Romans 8:11). • Appropriate this gift daily: thank Him for making you alive, and refuse to live as though still in the grave. Walk Daily in Resurrection Power 1. Present yourself to God “as those brought from death to life” (Romans 6:13). 2. Depend on the Spirit, not self-effort (Galatians 5:16). 3. Renew your mind with Scripture (Colossians 3:1-2). 4. Obey promptly; resurrection power flows where Christ’s lordship is honored (John 14:21). Choose Victory over Sin • Because “we have been united with Him in a death like His,” we will “also be united with Him in a resurrection like His” (Romans 6:5). • Sin’s mastery is broken; we are free to walk in righteousness (Romans 6:11-14). • When tempted, reckon the old self crucified and the new self alive to God. Let Hope Reshape Your Perspective • “According to His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead” (1 Peter 1:3). • Suffering is temporary; glory is certain (2 Corinthians 4:14-17). • Resurrection hope fuels endurance, courage, and joy. Proclaim What You Have Seen The women left the tomb with a message; so do we. • “Go into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15). • Witness flows from gratitude: “We cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20). • Sharing the risen Christ invites others into resurrection life and deepens our own experience of it. Long for the Final Resurrection • Christ’s resurrection guarantees ours (1 Corinthians 15:20-23). • Fixing our eyes on that day purifies present living (1 John 3:2-3). • Until then, we live as people of the empty tomb—grateful, empowered, and eagerly awaiting the shout, the trumpet, and the ultimate victory over death. |
