How to explore land daily?
What steps can we take to "explore the land" in our daily lives?

Remember the Command

“Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim, saying, ‘Go, explore the land…’” (Joshua 2:1).

If God calls His people to explore Canaan literally, He calls us to explore the territory of His promises today. Our daily “land” includes every sphere where He intends His truth to take root—home, work, neighborhood, nation.

Fix Your Eyes on God’s Promise First

• Read and rehearse Joshua 1:3—“Every place where the sole of your foot treads I have given to you.”

• Let the certainty of God’s word set your expectations; you walk into territory already deeded to you in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Survey the Landscape With Prayerful Observation

• Begin each day asking the Lord, “Show me where You are working” (John 5:17).

• Keep a journal of people, problems, and possibilities you notice.

• As the spies noted cities, produce, and fortifications (Numbers 13:18–20), list both opportunities and obstacles you see.

Gather Faith-Building Facts, Not Fear-Breeding Fables

• The spies collected a cluster of grapes (Numbers 13:23); bring home tangible reminders of God’s goodness—answered prayers, testimonies, Scripture promises.

• Avoid rehearsing worst-case scenarios; Philippians 4:8 directs our minds to what is true and praiseworthy.

Travel in Pairs and With Secrecy When Necessary

• Joshua sent “two men” (Joshua 2:1). Walk with a trusted believer who will pray, encourage, and hold you accountable.

• Some initiatives mature better before public announcement (Proverbs 21:23).

Seek Local Allies

• The spies found Rahab, a surprising partner (Joshua 2:8-14).

• Look for people God has prepared in unlikely places—co-workers with spiritual hunger, neighbors ready to serve, officials open to righteousness.

Trust God’s Protection in Hostile Terrain

• Rahab affirmed, “I know that the LORD has given you this land” (Joshua 2:9).

• When you sense resistance, repeat Psalm 27:1—“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”

Bring Back a Faith Report

• Return to your church, family, or small group and recount what God is doing (Psalm 66:16).

• Focus on God’s power, not the giants (Numbers 14:7-9).

Move From Exploration to Occupation

Joshua 1:11—“Prepare provisions, for within three days you will cross the Jordan.”

• Set concrete next steps: a phone call, a ministry launch, a reconciliatory conversation.

• Act promptly; delayed obedience saps courage.

Maintain a Pilgrim Mentality

• The conquest unfolded over years; exploring is ongoing.

• Keep asking, “What new ground do You have for me today, Lord?” (Ephesians 2:10).

• Celebrate every footprint of obedience; each one widens His kingdom footprint through you.

Live Expectantly

Just as Israel’s spies returned with evidence of a good land, let daily explorations deepen confidence that “the earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof” (Psalm 24:1). Every step taken in faith lays claim to terrain already secured by the cross and guaranteed by the empty tomb.

How can we apply the concept of 'strong or weak' to our faith?
