How to feel God's presence daily?
In what ways can we fill our lives with God's presence daily?

Jesus’ vivid warning: the danger of an empty house

“Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and dwell there, and the final condition of that man is worse than the first.” (Luke 11:26)

Swept, but not filled—what the verse shows

- The man’s “house” (his life) is clean and orderly, yet empty.

- Emptiness becomes an open invitation for greater evil to move in.

- Jesus states this as a literal spiritual reality, underscoring the need to be actively filled with God, not merely free of obvious sin.

How to welcome God’s presence every day

• Abide in His Word

- “Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you…” (Colossians 3:16)

- Read, meditate, and memorize Scripture (Psalm 119:11).

- Replace idle thoughts with truth; speak verses aloud as you work, drive, or walk.

• Live a life of continual prayer

- “Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

- Begin the morning conversing with the Lord, keep an open dialogue through the day, and end the night thanking Him.

- Short prayers between tasks keep the “house” occupied.

• Be filled with the Spirit

- “Instead, be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)

- Yield every decision, impulse, and conversation to Him.

- Ask consciously for His control whenever temptations or frustrations appear.

• Cultivate worship and gratitude

- Sing “psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs” (Ephesians 5:19).

- Turn background noise into praise music; let gratitude crowd out complaint.

• Remain in Christ through obedience

- “Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.” (John 15:4)

- Act promptly on Scripture’s commands; obedience locks the door against returning sin.

• Fellowship with believers

- “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship.” (Acts 2:42)

- Gather regularly, share testimonies, bear one another’s burdens.

- Healthy community keeps the interior of your “house” lively and guarded.

• Serve others in love

- “Through love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13)

- Volunteer, encourage, give. Service shifts focus from self to the Lord’s mission.

• Practice daily self-examination

- “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)

- Invite the Spirit to search thoughts and motives, confess immediately, and receive cleansing.

The promised outcome

- A life filled with Scripture, prayer, worship, obedience, fellowship, service, and vigilance leaves no vacant rooms.

- Instead of regression (Luke 11:26’s warning), you experience stability, fruitfulness, and joy in God’s abiding presence.
