How to fully serve Him daily?
How can we "serve Him with wholehearted devotion" in our daily lives today?

A Call Straight from David’s Heart

“ ‘And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve Him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing spirit, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.’ ” (1 Chronicles 28:9)

What Wholehearted Devotion Looks Like

• Undivided loyalty—no secret compartments reserved for self (Matthew 6:24)

• Joyful willingness—service that springs from delight, not duty alone (Psalm 100:2)

• Consistent pursuit—seeking Him each day because He is worth finding (Jeremiah 29:13)

Why It Matters

• God “searches every heart” —nothing is hidden; authenticity counts

• He “understands every motive” —God sees the why behind the what

• Promise and warning—seek and find, forsake and lose

Daily Practices That Keep the Heart Whole

1. Start with Scripture

• Read, meditate, and obey (Joshua 1:8)

• Let His Word “dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16)

2. Cultivate a Continual Conversation

• Speak to Him throughout the day (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

• Turn moments of worry into moments of worship

3. Serve Others Intentionally

• “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23)

• Look for unnoticed tasks—acts of kindness done for Him alone (Matthew 25:40)

4. Guard the Inner Life

• “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it” (Proverbs 4:23)

• Filter media, conversations, and habits that dull spiritual passion

5. Practice Quick Repentance

• Confess sin immediately (1 John 1:9)

• Keep short accounts to prevent a calloused heart

Motivation Rooted in Love

• We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19)

• Wholehearted devotion responds to the cross with surrendered gratitude

Power Supplied by the Spirit

• “It is God who works in you to will and to act on behalf of His good purpose” (Philippians 2:13)

• Dependence, not self-effort, fuels lasting devotion

Remember and Repeat

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” (Deuteronomy 6:5)

Wholehearted service starts in the heart, shows up in our choices, and is sustained by His grace every single day.
