How to guide others in faith?
How can we encourage others to walk on "straight paths" in faith?

The Call to Straight Paths

“Make straight paths for your feet, so that the lame will not be disabled, but rather healed.” (Hebrews 12:13)

What “Straight Paths” Looks Like

• Single-minded focus on Christ (Hebrews 12:2)

• Uncompromised obedience to God’s Word (Psalm 119:105)

• Consistent rejection of sin’s detours (Proverbs 4:25-27)

• Readiness for the Lord’s coming (Isaiah 40:3; Luke 3:4-6)

Why Our Example Matters

• Others stumble or heal depending on the road we clear (Hebrews 12:13)

• Liberty must never become a stumbling block (Romans 14:13; 1 Corinthians 8:9)

• A holy walk confirms the gospel’s power (Philippians 2:15-16)

Practical Ways to Encourage Straight Walking

1. Lead visibly

– Show up faithfully: worship, study, service (Acts 2:42-47)

– Model repentance when you fail (1 John 1:9)

2. Speak life

– “Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths” (Ephesians 4:29)

– Share testimonies of God’s faithfulness (Psalm 66:16)

3. Walk alongside the weak

– “Bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2)

– Offer patient instruction, not harsh correction (2 Timothy 2:24-25)

4. Guard the path

– Correct error with Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

– Pray regularly for those under your influence (Colossians 4:12)

5. Celebrate progress

– Rejoice over every step toward Christlikeness (3 John 4)

– Mark answered prayers and milestones (1 Samuel 7:12)

Words That Build Up

• “Encourage one another daily” (Hebrews 3:13)

• “Spur one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24)

• “Strengthen the weak hands and steady the feeble knees” (Isaiah 35:3)

Living Out Hebrews 12:13 Together

Straight paths are cleared when believers walk in humble obedience, speak with grace, and serve with endurance. As we do, the spiritually lame find firm footing, the wounded become whole, and the watching world sees a highway that leads directly to Christ.

In what ways can we ensure spiritual healing in our personal lives?
