How to inspire others to praise God?
In what ways can we encourage others to "declare" God's "greatness"?

Anchoring in Scripture

Psalm 145:6: “They will proclaim the power of Your awesome deeds, and I will declare Your greatness.”

• “Proclaim” and “declare” are parallel imperatives—God’s people talk about His works so others will join the chorus.

• The promise: when we speak, others will be stirred to speak as well (cf. Psalm 34:3; 1 Peter 2:9).

Why Declaring Matters

• God has commanded it (Isaiah 12:4).

• Testimony multiplies faith (Romans 10:17).

• Silence robs Him of glory that is rightfully His (Luke 19:40).

Practical Ways to Encourage Others

1. Share Personal Testimonies

– Regularly recount specific answers to prayer (Psalm 66:16).

– Keep stories short and centered on God’s action, not self-promotion.

2. Speak Scripture Naturally

– Work verses into everyday conversation (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).

– Text or post one verse that highlights His greatness; invite friends to respond.

3. Celebrate Publicly

– Offer audible praise at meals, meetings, and milestones (Psalm 107:1-2).

– Let gratitude replace grumbling; it sets a contagious tone.

4. Worship in Community

– Invite friends to church, small group, or praise night (Hebrews 10:24-25).

– Encourage participation—not performance—so all feel free to voice praise.

5. Serve Tangibly

– Meet a practical need, then connect the act to God’s goodness (Matthew 5:16).

– Serve together; shared mission prompts shared testimony.

6. Use Creative Expression

– Songs, art, social media reels, written devotionals—all can spotlight His works (Psalm 96:1-3).

– Provide platforms for others to share their creative declarations.

7. Mentor and Disciple

– Walk one-on-one through gospel passages (2 Timothy 2:2).

– Model confession and celebration; invite them to try it aloud.

8. Encourage Corporate Storytelling

– Reserve time in gatherings for “praise reports.”

– Protect that space from critique; foster a safe atmosphere of honor.

Heart Posture While Encouraging

• Humility: focus on God’s greatness, not ours (John 3:30).

• Integrity: live what we speak (James 1:22).

• Joy: enthusiasm underscores authenticity (Nehemiah 8:10).

• Dependence on the Spirit: He supplies boldness and words (Acts 4:31).

Fuel for Consistency

• Daily Scripture intake (Psalm 119:171).

• Remembrance journals of God’s deeds (Joshua 4:6-7).

• Fellowship that stirs up praise (Malachi 3:16).

• Future hope of eternal declaration (Revelation 5:13).

Outcome to Anticipate

When believers actively declare God’s greatness, others:

• Hear and fear the LORD (Psalm 40:3).

• Join in praise (Psalm 145:10-11).

• Seek Christ personally (Acts 16:30-34).

Live It Out

Start today: identify one recent work of God, share it with one person, invite that person to pass it on. Simple obedience to Psalm 145:6 can ignite a chain of voices exalting the greatness of our God.
