How to inspire others to their calling?
How can we encourage others to fulfill their calling as seen in this verse?

The Heart of the Verse

“My sons, do not be negligent now, for the LORD has chosen you to stand before Him, to serve Him, and to minister before Him and burn incense.” (2 Chronicles 29:11)

Why Our Encouragement Matters

• God’s call is personal—“the LORD has chosen you.”

• Negligence is possible—“do not be negligent now.”

• Service is noble—“to stand before Him, to serve Him.”

Remind Them They Are Chosen

1 Peter 2:9—“you are a chosen people.”

Ephesians 2:10—“created in Christ Jesus for good works.”

• Speak identity: “God hand-picked you for this task.”

Point to the Privilege of Standing Before God

Hebrews 10:19—access through Christ.

• Encourage awe, not anxiety: their service happens in God’s presence.

• Celebrate any step they take toward Him.

Model Diligence Yourself

1 Corinthians 15:58—“be steadfast, immovable….”

• People believe encouragement when they see it lived out.

• Invite them to join you in practical ministry moments.

Fan Their Gift into Flame

2 Timothy 1:6—“fan into flame the gift of God.”

• Name the gifts you see (Romans 12:6-8).

• Provide resources, training, and regular feedback.

Use Words That Build, Not Burden

1 Thessalonians 5:11—“encourage one another and build each other up.”

• Trade vague praise for specific affirmation:

– “Your compassion yesterday reflected Christ.”

– “The way you explained Scripture helped me understand.”

Offer Tangible Opportunities

• Small steps: reading Scripture aloud, greeting newcomers, helping set up.

• Medium steps: leading a small group, organizing prayer chains.

• Larger steps: teaching, missions, church planting.

Stay Close with Accountability

Hebrews 10:24-25—“spur one another on…encouraging one another.”

• Schedule check-ins.

• Celebrate progress; address drift lovingly and promptly.

Speak Scripture into Their Story

Colossians 4:17—“See to it that you complete the work you have received.”

Hebrews 3:13—“Encourage one another daily.”

• God’s own words supply authority and power.

Keep the Focus on God’s Glory

1 Peter 4:11—“so that in all things God may be glorified.”

• Remind them that faithfulness, not fame, is success.

• Redirect any applause back to the Lord.

Living It Out Today

1. Identify at least one believer in your circle who is hesitating in their call.

2. Share 2 Chronicles 29:11 with them, highlighting God’s choice and purpose.

3. Offer a specific next step and walk with them as they take it.
