How to keep God central daily?
In what ways can we ensure God is our "God" in daily life?

Key Verse

Jeremiah 24:7: “I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart.”

The Covenant Reality: God’s Claim on Us

• God declares a two-way relationship: “I will be their God” and “They will be My people.”

• This covenant claim is not symbolic; it is literal, binding, and continual (Exodus 6:7; 2 Corinthians 6:16).

• Our part is wholehearted return—an active, daily turning toward Him.

Daily Choices That Say “God Is My God”

1. Prioritize time with Him

• “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

• Schedule Scripture and prayer before the day’s demands claim attention.

2. Obey His revealed Word

• “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15).

• Let every decision—finances, speech, entertainment—pass the test of clear biblical teaching.

3. Seek first His kingdom

• “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).

• Arrange goals, calendars, and resources around eternal priorities rather than personal comfort.

4. Cultivate thankful dependence

• “Apart from You I have no good thing” (Psalm 16:2).

• Regularly acknowledge His provision in meals, work, health, and relationships.

5. Guard against rival allegiances

• “You shall have no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3).

• Identify and repent of modern idols—career ambitions, technology, pleasure, or self-promotion.

6. Practice continual repentance

• “Return to Me with all your heart” (Joel 2:12).

• Keep short accounts with God; confess sin promptly and accept His cleansing (1 John 1:9).

7. Offer your body as a living sacrifice

• “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God” (Romans 12:1).

• View daily routines—commuting, parenting, studying—as platforms for worshipful obedience.

8. Speak of Him openly

• “Let the redeemed of the LORD say so” (Psalm 107:2).

• Testify to His faithfulness in ordinary conversations, reinforcing His rightful place as Lord.

Guarding the Heart: Where Idolatry Begins

• Idolatry starts internally before any outward act (James 4:1–4).

• Daily heart checks: What dominates my thoughts? What do I fear losing most? Where do I run for comfort?

• Replace misplaced affections with focused worship and scriptural meditation (Colossians 3:1–2).

The Spirit’s Enabling

• God Himself supplies “a heart to know Me” (Jeremiah 24:7).

• Depend on the Spirit for power to obey, desire, and delight in God’s ways (Ezekiel 36:26–27; Galatians 5:16).

Living Proof to a Watching World

• A life consistently centered on God becomes evidence of His reality to family, coworkers, and neighbors (Matthew 5:16).

• Our transformed priorities and attitudes invite others to acknowledge the LORD as the only true God.

Daily Reminder

• Write Jeremiah 24:7 on a card or phone lock screen.

• Each glance is a prompt: God has pledged Himself to you—respond today with all your heart.
