How to prepare for eternal inheritance?
In what ways can we prepare for our eternal inheritance?

The Promise in Daniel 7:18

“But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and possess it forever—yes, forever and ever.”

Know Whose You Are

• Respond to the gospel, turning in faith to Jesus (John 1:12).

• Remember that “the Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children…heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:16-17).

• Confidence in your identity fuels every other preparation.

Set Your Heart on the Coming Kingdom

• “Set your hearts on things above, where Christ is” (Colossians 3:1-4).

• Keep eternity in view when making daily choices (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).

• Let kingdom priorities shape your calendar, wallet, and conversations.

Pursue Holiness Daily

• “Be holy in all you do” (1 Peter 1:15-16).

• Practical steps:

– Guard your thought life (Philippians 4:8).

– Choose companions who spur you on to godliness (Proverbs 13:20).

– Quickly confess and turn from sin (1 John 1:9).

• “Without holiness no one will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).

Nurture an Unshakeable Faith

• Build yourself up “in your most holy faith” (Jude 20-21).

• Feed on Scripture daily; faith grows by hearing God’s word (Romans 10:17).

• Pray, casting anxieties on Him, trusting His promises (1 Peter 5:7).

Walk in Obedience and Good Works

• You are “created in Christ Jesus for good works” (Ephesians 2:10).

• Add virtue on virtue (2 Peter 1:5-11) so that “you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom.”

• Serve in your local church; faith expressed in love readies you for rulership in the age to come.

Invest in Eternal Treasure

• “Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:19-21).

• Generous giving, hospitality, and acts of mercy deposit riches where moth and rust cannot reach.

• Where your treasure is, your heart follows—anchoring you in the coming inheritance.

Persevere Through Suffering

• “Our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed” (Romans 8:18).

• Trials refine faith and qualify you for “the crown of life” (James 1:12).

• Finish your race like Paul: “There is reserved for me the crown of righteousness” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

Share the Kingdom Invitation

• Jesus’ commission still stands: “Go and make disciples” (Matthew 28:19-20).

• As you testify, others join the future kingdom, multiplying eternal joy (Romans 10:14-15).

• Evangelism also sharpens your own hope as you rehearse the gospel.

Rely on the Spirit’s Guarantee

• The Holy Spirit is “a pledge of our inheritance” (Ephesians 1:13-14; 2 Corinthians 1:22).

• Walk in the Spirit—His fruit marks you out as a rightful heir (Galatians 5:22-25).

• Depend on His power; preparation is impossible in human strength alone.

Live Watchful and Ready

• Grace trains us “to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives…while we wait for the blessed hope” (Titus 2:11-13).

• Stay alert; “the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect” (Matthew 24:44).

• A watchful heart keeps short accounts with God and eagerly anticipates “forever and ever.”
