How to seek God's help today?
How can we seek God's assistance in our battles today?

Spotlight Verse

2 Chronicles 26:7: “And God helped him against the Philistines, against the Arabs living in Gur-baal, and against the Meunites.”

God Helped Then—He Helps Now

• Uzziah’s victories were not credited to strategy, weapons, or alliances—Scripture says plainly, “God helped him.”

• Our conflicts may be spiritual, relational, financial, or cultural, but the source of help has not changed.

Isaiah 41:10: “I will strengthen you; I will surely help you.”

Recognize the Real Battlefield

Ephesians 6:12 reminds us our struggle is ultimately “not against flesh and blood.”

• Identifying the true enemy keeps us from wasting energy on people and drives us to God for supernatural aid.

Ask with Humble Dependence

1 Chronicles 5:20: “They cried out to Him during the battle…He answered their prayers, because they trusted in Him.”

• Practical posture:

– Begin each day acknowledging, “Lord, this fight is bigger than me.”

– Replace self-reliance with surrender (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Stand on Promises, Not Feelings

Psalm 54:4: “Surely God is my helper.”

• Keep a list of battle verses; speak them aloud when fear rises.

• Feelings fluctuate; God’s written promises do not.

Suit Up with Spiritual Armor

Ephesians 6:10-11: “Be strong in the Lord…Put on the full armor of God.”

• Daily checklist:

– Truth around your waist

– Righteousness guarding your heart

– Gospel readiness on your feet

– Faith shielding against lies

– Salvation securing your mind

– Word of God in hand

– Prayer in the Spirit at all times

Walk in Obedience

• Uzziah sought the LORD “and as long as he sought the LORD, God gave him success” (2 Chronicles 26:5).

• Sin opens doors to defeat; obedience positions us for aid.

James 4:7: “Submit…then resist the devil, and he will flee.” Submission comes first.

Seek Godly Counsel

• Even kings needed prophets; we need wise believers.

• Invite accountability that points you back to Scripture when emotions cloud judgment.

Praise Before, During, After

2 Chronicles 20:21-22 shows Judah praising first and watching God rout the enemy.

• Praise shifts focus from problem to Provider and reaffirms faith in His intervention.

Bring It Home: Simple Steps This Week

1. Write out one “battle” you’re facing and place 2 Chronicles 26:7 beside it.

2. Memorize Isaiah 41:10; recite it whenever anxiety hits.

3. Pray specifically for God’s help, naming the obstacle and confessing dependence.

4. Put on the full armor each morning—out loud, piece by piece.

5. Share the struggle with a trusted believer and invite prayer support.

6. End each day listing two ways God showed up, no matter how small.

God still delights to help those who openly rely on Him. The battles may look different from Uzziah’s, but the Helper remains the same.
