How to seek Jesus' healing power?
What steps can we take to seek Jesus' healing power in our lives?

Recognize the Depth of Our Wounds

“Night and day in the tombs and in the mountains, he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.” (Mark 5:5)

•The man’s pain was undeniable. He didn’t minimize or hide it.

•Healing begins when we stop pretending we’re fine and admit the seriousness of our brokenness (Psalm 34:18).

Cry Out to Jesus

•Our first step is a heartfelt plea, not a polished prayer: “Lord, I need You.”

•Jesus promises, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Come Out of Isolation

•The demoniac lived among tombs—alone and cut off.

•God often channels healing through His people; don’t withdraw from Christ-centered community (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Submit to His Authority

•Demons fled because they recognized Jesus’ absolute authority (Mark 5:8-13).

•Healing follows surrender. Hand over habits, grievances, even the timing and manner of your healing (James 4:7).

Receive His Word by Faith

•Jesus’ words carried the power to set the man free.

•Spend daily time in Scripture; declare its truths over your life (Romans 10:17; Psalm 107:20).

Act on What He Says

•The formerly possessed man obeyed Jesus immediately—sitting clothed and in his right mind (Mark 5:15).

•Simple obedience—confessing sin, forgiving others, anointing with oil (James 5:14-16)—creates space for divine power to work.

Tell Your Story

•“Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you.” (Mark 5:19)

•Testimony reinforces healing and sparks faith in others (Revelation 12:11).

Stay Close to the Healer

•Continual relationship guards the freedom Jesus gives (John 15:4-5).

•Practice worship, fellowship, and ongoing repentance so the enemy finds no foothold (Ephesians 6:10-18).

In these steps—honest admission, desperate prayer, community, surrender, trusting Scripture, obedient action, testimony, and abiding—we place ourselves where Jesus’ healing power flows, just as it did for the man of Mark 5.
