Lessons from Moses' reaction in faith?
What can we learn from Moses' reaction to the "sight" in our faith?

The Scene Moses Saw

Acts 7:31: “When Moses saw it, he marveled at the sight. And as he approached to look more closely, the voice of the Lord came to him.”

(See also Exodus 3:3–4 for the original event.)

What Moses Did—and Why It Matters

• He paused: instead of hurrying past, he “marveled.”

• He drew near: curiosity led him to “approach to look more closely.”

• He heard God: only after stepping toward the miracle did “the voice of the Lord” speak.

Lessons for Our Faith

• Stop and take notice

– God often uses unexpected moments to get our attention (Psalm 46:10).

– Faith grows when we refuse to treat divine interruptions as coincidences.

• Cultivate holy curiosity

– Like Moses, we move from wonder to worship by investigating God’s works (Psalm 111:2).

– A questioning heart can become a listening heart.

• Approach with reverent awe

– God’s presence is glorious and sometimes alarming (Hebrews 12:28-29).

– Awe guards us from casual, self-centered religion.

• Listen for His voice

– “My sheep listen to My voice” (John 10:27).

– Scripture, preached truth, and the Spirit’s prompting all flow from the same Lord who spoke from the bush.

• Obey what you hear

– Moses’ next steps—removing sandals, accepting his call—show that revelation demands response (James 1:22).

– Faith that hears without acting soon withers (Luke 8:18).

• Expect transformation

– Moses left the bush forever changed; so do we when we behold the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).

– God’s call shifts our identity from wanderers to servants on mission (Romans 12:1-2).

Supporting Scriptures

Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know that I am God.”

Hebrews 12:28-29: “Let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.”

John 10:27: “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.”

2 Corinthians 3:18: “We all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His image.”

Living It Out

• Give God your attention; put down distractions when the Spirit nudges.

• Draw near in reverence, not merely curiosity—He is holy.

• Listen and obey promptly; delayed obedience often becomes disobedience.

• Anticipate that every genuine encounter with God will redirect your life for His glory.
