Other texts warn of false prophets?
What other scriptures caution against false teachings and prophets?

Jeremiah 29:8: God’s Clear Directive

• “For this is what the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: ‘Do not let your prophets who are among you or your diviners deceive you. And do not listen to the dreams you elicit from them.’” (Jeremiah 29:8)

• The Babylonian exiles were warned not to swallow soothing but counterfeit messages. The counsel resounds through the rest of Scripture.
