Role of God in granting us peace?
What role does "God our Father" play in granting us peace?

Grace and Peace From the Father

“Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.” — Philemon 1:3

The Source of Peace

• Peace originates in the Father’s heart; He actively sends it to His children.

• He is “not a God of disorder, but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33).

• Every biblical blessing of peace—Old or New Testament—traces back to Him (Numbers 6:24-26).

The Father Initiates, the Son Mediates

• The Father authored the plan of reconciliation; the Son accomplished it.

• “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

• Jesus hands us the very peace the Father designed: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you” (John 14:27).

Adoption Anchors Our Peace

Because God is our Father, peace is:

– Personal: we rest in a relationship, not a contract.

– Secure: a Father’s love does not waver with circumstance.

– Inherited: it is part of our family birthright in Christ (Ephesians 2:19).

Peace Guarded by the Spirit

• The Spirit, sent from the Father (John 14:26), applies and protects this peace.

• “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

• As we trust, “You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast mind” (Isaiah 26:3).

Living From the Father’s Peace

• Receive it daily—peace is granted, not earned.

• Reflect it relationally—extend the Father’s peace in every interaction.

• Rest in it continually—“May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

God our Father is the fountainhead of peace: He planned it, provided it through His Son, applies it by His Spirit, and invites us to live securely in it.

How can we extend 'grace and peace' to others in our daily lives?
