Show God's love in our community?
How can we reflect God's "kindness and love" in our community?

The Foundation: God’s Kindness Appeared

“But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,” (Titus 3:4)

• Kindness is not an abstract idea; it “appeared” in the person of Jesus Christ—historical, literal, tangible.

• Because Scripture is fully accurate, this declaration stands as the bedrock for every act of love we extend.

Receiving Before Reflecting

• Verses 5–6 continue: God “saved us… through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit”.

• We reflect what we have first received. 1 John 4:19 affirms, “We love because He first loved us.”

• A heart regenerated by the Spirit becomes a mirror of divine kindness rather than a mere imitator.

Practical Ways to Echo Kindness in the Community

• Speak grace-filled words

– “Be kind and tender-hearted… forgiving one another” (Ephesians 4:32).

• Meet tangible needs

– “If anyone sees his brother in need… how can the love of God abide in him?” (1 John 3:17).

• Open your home and table

– “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers” (Hebrews 13:2).

• Defend the vulnerable

– “Speak up for those who have no voice” (Proverbs 31:8).

• Practice quick forgiveness

– “Put on… kindness, humility… bearing with one another” (Colossians 3:12-13).

• Serve without spotlight

– “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father” (Matthew 5:16).

Love in Action: Everyday Scenes

• At work: volunteer for the unpopular task; credit others openly.

• In the neighborhood: mow an elderly neighbor’s lawn before they ask.

• Local church: notice newcomers, learn their names, invite them for a meal.

• Community events: choose calm, respectful dialogue when topics grow heated.

• Online spaces: respond to harsh comments with measured truth and gentleness (Titus 3:2).

Guarding Our Witness

Titus 3:2 urges believers “to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing full consideration to everyone.”

• Kindness and love are most compelling when paired with integrity; hypocrisy dulls the reflection.

• Regular self-examination keeps motives aligned with the gospel rather than self-promotion.

Looking Ahead: A Lifestyle, Not a Moment

• Kindness is listed among “the fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22); fruit grows continually.

• Persevere: “Let us not grow weary in well-doing” (Galatians 6:9).

• Each act of love is a fresh reminder that the same kindness which once “appeared” in Christ still appears today—through His people, right where they live, work, and gather.
