Trust in the Lord as our help and shield?
How can we trust in the Lord as "their help and shield" today?

Turning to Psalm 115:10

“O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.”

Grasping “Help and Shield”

• Help – the Lord personally intervenes, delivers, and supplies every need (Psalm 46:1; Philippians 4:19).

• Shield – He surrounds, defends, and absorbs what would otherwise crush us (Genesis 15:1; Psalm 3:3).

Why We Can Trust

• God’s character never shifts (Malachi 3:6; James 1:17).

• His promises stand unbroken (Joshua 23:14).

• His past acts prove His present faithfulness (Psalm 77:11-12).

Practical Ways to Trust Him as Help and Shield Today

• Immerse in His Word daily; what He says is more certain than circumstances (Psalm 119:105).

• Pray reflexively—small, honest prayers throughout the day invite His intervention (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

• Obey promptly even when logic protests; obedience positions us behind the Shield (John 14:21).

• Recall testimonies of earlier deliverances—personal or biblical—to silence present fears (Hebrews 13:8).

• Stand with other believers; faith multiplies in fellowship (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Receive God’s armor, especially “the shield of faith, with which you will extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one” (Ephesians 6:16).

• Surrender future outcomes; trusting means leaving results with Him (Proverbs 3:5-6).

• Celebrate answered prayer; gratitude cements confidence (Psalm 118:14).

Living the Reality

Trust is not passive; it’s an active resting. As we saturate ourselves in Scripture, speak to Him continually, and step forward in obedience, we experience the Lord Himself as our unfailing help and unbreakable shield—just as Psalm 115:10 declares.
