Which Scriptures show Jesus helps us?
What other Scriptures reinforce the message of Jesus aiding us in temptation?

Rooted in Hebrews 2:18

“He Himself suffered when tempted; He is able to help those being tempted.” (Hebrews 2:18)

• Jesus’ firsthand experience with temptation makes Him the perfect Helper.

• He doesn’t merely sympathize—He steps in with practical aid for every struggle.

Jesus Sympathizes and Strengthens (Hebrews 4:15–16)

“For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with weaknesses… yet without sin.” (v. 15)

“Approach the throne of grace with confidence… find grace to help in time of need.” (v. 16)

• Because He remained sinless, He has grace to share.

• His throne is not a place of scolding but of timely help.

• Run to Him in the heat of the battle.

An Escape Is Guaranteed (1 Corinthians 10:13)

“No temptation has seized you except what is common… He will also provide an escape.”

• Every pressure we face is “common”; we are never singled out.

• The faithful Lord always builds an exit ramp—sometimes endurance, sometimes removal.

• Jesus Himself is that escape; cling to Him and the door opens.

He Showed Us How (Matthew 4:1–11)

“Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” (v. 1)

“‘Away from Me, Satan!’… ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’” (v. 10)

“Then the devil left Him, and angels came and ministered to Him.” (v. 11)

• He faced temptation in weakness yet stood firm with Scripture.

• Each answer began, “It is written,” showing us to wield the Word.

• Resistance makes the enemy leave, and heavenly help follows (James 4:7-8).

He Prays and Pleads for Us (Luke 22:31–32; Romans 8:34)

“Simon… I have prayed for you.” (Luke)

“Christ Jesus… is at the right hand of God—and He is interceding for us.” (Romans)

• Before temptation arrives, Jesus prays our faith won’t fail.

• His intercession silences accusations.

• Even failure need not be final—Peter’s restoration proves His aid continues after a fall.

Daily Rescue and Ultimate Deliverance (2 Peter 2:9; Revelation 3:10; Jude 24)

“The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials.” (2 Peter 2:9)

“I will keep you from the hour of testing…” (Revelation 3:10)

“Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling…” (Jude 24)

• From moment-by-moment temptations to global testing, Jesus holds us fast.

• His power is proactive—He keeps, rescues, guards, and ultimately presents us blameless.

• Our security rests in His ability, not our resolve.

Living the Truth

• Keep Scripture within reach; speak it aloud as Jesus did.

• Run to the throne of grace as soon as temptation surfaces.

• Look for the exit ramp; He promises it’s there.

• Lean on His intercession—thank Him that He prays for you by name.

• Encourage fellow believers; Jesus told Peter, “strengthen your brothers.”
