1When all of Solomon’s work for the Temple of the LORD was finished; he brought in all the things that David, his father, had dedicated: the silver, the gold, and all the utensils; and put them among the treasuries of the Temple of God.

2Then Solomon summoned all the elders of Israel, heads of the tribes, and leaders of the fathers’ households of Israel, to Jerusalem, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD to the Temple from the city of David, which is Zion. 3So all the men of Israel assembled before the king at the feast in the seventh month. 4And when all the elders of Israel had arrived, the Levites took up the ark. 5And the priests and the Levites brought the up ark, the tent of meeting and all its sacred furnishings within it. 6And King Solomon, and all the Israelites assembled before the ark, and sacrificed sheep and oxen too numerous for counting. 7And the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD in and placed it in the inner sanctuary of the Temple, the most holy place, beneath the wings of the cherubim; 8So that the wings of the cherubim overspread the place of the ark and its staves. 9And they drew out the staves of the ark, such that their ends were visible from the front of the inner sanctuary; but not visible from outside of it. And there it is unto this day (that day being when this history was compiled; but after the Babylonian captivity, there is no trace of either ark or staves). 10There was nothing in the ark except the two tables (of the Ten Commandments) which Moses put in it at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt. 11And when the priests had come out of the holy place - for all the priests who were present were sanctified, whether or not they were on duty that day. 12And the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, with their sons and their relatives, arrayed in white linen, with cymbals, psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them a hundred twenty priests blowing trumpets; 13And as the trumpeters and singers joined in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voices, the trumpets, cymbals and instruments of music, they praised the LORD, saying, “For He is good; for His mercy endures forever” - the Temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud. 14So that the priests could not continue to minister because of the cloud; for the glory and brilliance of the LORD had filled the Temple of God.
