Deuteronomy 22

If you see your fellow Israelite’s ox or sheep going astray, you must not ignore it, but must take it back to him. 2And if the owner does not live near you, or if you do not know him, then you shall bring it to your own house, and it shall be kept with you until the owner come seeking after it, and then you must return it to him again. 3You shall you do the same with his donkey; with his clothing; and with all lost items of another that you have found: you may not withhold your help. 4If you see your brother's donkey or ox fallen down on the road, do not withhold your help from them: you must surely help him lift them up again.

“A woman must not wear a man’s clothing, nor must a man wear a women's clothing; for all that do so are detestable to the LORD your God.

“If you come across a bird's nest in a tree, or on the ground, whether the mother bird is sitting upon its chicks, or upon its eggs, you must not take the mother bird with its young; 7You may take the young; but you must surely let the mother bird go, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.

“When you build a new house, then you must make a parapet for your roof, so that no one falls from it, and you bring not blood upon your house.

“You must not plant your vineyard with different kinds of seed. If you do, not only the crops of what you plant, but also the fruit of your vineyard, shall be defiled. 10Do not plow with an ox and a donkey yoked together. Do not wear a garment made of wool and linen woven together.

“You shall make tassels on the four quarters of your cloak you use to cover yourself.

“If any man takes a wife, and after sleeping with her, dislikes her, 14And slanders her, and brings shame upon her, and says, ‘I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found no evidences of her virginity’; 15Then shall her father and her mother, bring proof of the damsel's virginity to the elders of the city in the gate. 16And her father shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man in marriage, and he dislikes her; 17And he has slandered her, by saying, “I found your daughter to not be a virgin. And yet there is the proof of my daughter's virginity.”’ And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. 18And the elders of that city shall chastise that man, 19And they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver, which they shall give to her father, because he has brought up a slanderous report upon a virgin of Israel; and she shall be his wife; he may not divorce her all his days. 20But if what the husband says is proven true, and the proofs of virginity are not found for her, 21Then they shall bring her out to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones: because she has brought folly in Israel, by playing the harlot in her father's house: so shall you put evil away from among you.

“If a man is found sleeping with a another man’s wife, then they shall both die - the man and the woman. So shall you put away evil from Israel.

“If a man finds in the city a damsel that is a virgin betrothed to another man; and sleeps with her, 24Then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death - the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor's wife. So you shall put away evil from among you. 25But if a man finds such a betrothed damsel in the field, and forces her, and lies with her: then only that man shall die. 26But to the damsel you shall do nothing; there is with her no sin worthy of death: for as when a man rises against his neighbor, and slays him, even so is this matter: 27For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

“If a man meets a damsel that is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and rapes her, and they are discovered; 29Then the man that raped her shall give to her father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he has humbled her, he may not divorce all his days.

“A man must not marry his father's former wife, nor dishonor his father's bed.
