Deuteronomy 23

1He that is wounded in the stones (testicles), or is missing any of his genitals, shall not enter the congregation of the LORD. 2A bastard shall not enter the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation he shall not enter the congregation of the LORD. 3An Ammonite or Moabite must not enter the congregation of the LORD; not even a descendant to the tenth generation may enter the congregation of the LORD: 4Because they did not meet you with bread and water, when you came out of Egypt; but, instead, they hired Balaam, son of Beor, from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. 5Nevertheless the LORD your God would not listen to Balaam; but the LORD your God turned his curse into a blessing unto you, because the LORD your God loved you. 6You must not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days. 7You shall not despise an Edomite; for he is your brother; nor should you despise an Egyptian; because you were a sojourner in his land. 8Their children born to them of their third generation may enter the congregation of the LORD.

9“When the army goes forth against your enemies, then keep away from every wicked thing. 10If there is any man among you that is not clean, by reason of nocturnal emission, then he shall go out of the camp, he shall not remain within the camp; 11But when evening comes on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun has set, he shall come back into the camp. 12You shall also have a place (latrine) outside the camp, that you shall go out to use. 13And you shall have a shovel among your equipment; and when you ease yourself abroad, you shall turn back and dig with it, and bury what comes from you. 14For the LORD your God walks within your camp, to protect you, and turn your enemies over to you; therefore, your camp must be holy: so that He see no unclean or indecent thing in you, and turn away from you.

15“You shall not deliver an escaped slave to his master; 16He shall dwell with and among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of your towns, where it pleases him best; you must not oppress him.

17“There must be no shrine prostitute among the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite among the sons of Israel. 18You must not bring the earnings of a harlot, or a male prostitute into the Temple of the LORD your God to pay any vow: for the LORD your God detests both of these.

19“You shall not charge your brother interest - whether of money, of food, or of anything that is lent upon interest. 20You may lend to a foreigner upon interest; but not to your brother, that the LORD your God may bless you in all that you set about to accomplish in the land which you go to possess.

21“When you vow a vow unto the LORD your God, you shall not be slack to pay it: for the LORD your God will surely require it of you; and it would be sin in you. 22But if you shall refrain from vowing, it shall be no sin in you. 23Whatever has gone out of your lips, you shall keep and perform; even a freewill offering - as you have vowed unto the LORD your God, which you have promised with your mouth.

24“When you come into your neighbor's vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes at your own pleasure; but you shall not put any into any container. 25When you come into the standing grain of your neighbor, you may pluck the ears with your hand; but you shall not apply a sickle to your neighbor's standing grain.
