1And the LORD said to Moses, 2“On the first day of the first month, you shall set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting. 3And you shall put the Ark of the Covenant in it, and cover the ark with the veil. 4And bring in the table, and set the things to be set upon it in order; and then bring in the lampstand, and light its lamps. 5And set the gold incense altar in front of the Ark of the Covenant, and hang the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. 6And set the altar of the burnt offering in front of the entrance of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting. 7And you shall set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. 8And you shall set up the court around it, and hang the curtain at the court entrance. 9And take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is in it, and consecrate it, and all its furnishings: and it shall be holy. 10And anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all its vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy. 11And anoint the basin and its base, and sanctify it. 12And bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and wash them with water. 13And you shall put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto Me in the priest's office. 14And you shall bring his sons, and clothe them with tunics. 15And you shall anoint them, as you anointed their father, so that they may minister unto Me in the priest's office; for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations.”

16Moses did everything according to what the LORD commanded him. 17And on the first day of the first month of the second year, the tabernacle was set up. 18When Moses set up the tabernacle, he laid its sockets, and set up its boards, and put in its bars, and reared up its pillars. 19And he spread the tent coverings over the tabernacle frame, as the LORD commanded him. 20And he put the tablets of testimony into the Ark, and put the carrying staves on the Ark, and put the mercy seat upon the Ark. 21And then he brought the Ark into the tabernacle, and hung the inner veil and covered the Ark of the Covenant; as the LORD commanded Moses. 22And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, on the north side of the tabernacle, outside of the veil. 23And he set the bread in order on it before the LORD; as the LORD had instructed him. 24And he placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting, across from the table, on the south side of the tabernacle. 25And he lit the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. 26And Moses placed the gold incense altar in the tent of meeting in front of the veil. 27And he burned sweet incense on it; as the LORD commanded him. 28And he hung the curtain at the entrance of the tabernacle. 29And he placed the altar of burnt offering by the entrance to the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meal offering; as the LORD commanded Moses. 30And he set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it, for the priests to wash themselves. 31And Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons washed their hands and feet there. 32 They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting, and whenever they approached the altar, as the LORD had instructed Moses. 33And he hung the curtains that formed the courtyard around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so, Moses finished the work.

34Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting, because the cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 36And in all their travels, whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the Israelites would resume their journey; 37But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey until the day that it was taken up. 38The cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire glowed inside the cloud by night, so that all the house of Israel could see it, throughout all their travels.
