1Then Joseph could no longer restrain himself before all those standing by him; and he ordered, “Have everyone leave my presence!” And when there was no one else present, Joseph revealed his identity to his brothers. 2And he wept so loudly that all the Egyptians in the house of Pharaoh heard about it. 3And Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph; is my father still alive?” But his brothers were stunned and speechless in his presence – unable to answer him. 4And Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come closer to me.” And they came near. And he said, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. 5Now do not be grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here; because God sent me here before you to save lives. 6For the famine has been in the land these two years; and there are yet five more years of famine, in which there shall neither be plowing nor harvest. 7And God sent me here ahead of you to preserve you and your families a posterity in the earth by a great deliverance. 8So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God: and He has made me like a father to Pharaoh, and governor of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. 9Now hurry back to my father, and tell him, ‘Thus says your son, Joseph: “God has made me ruler of all Egypt; come down to me, and do not delay: 10And you shall settle in the land of Goshen, and be near to me - you, your children, your children's children, your flocks, herds, and all that you have. 11And there will I provide for you; for there are yet five years of famine to come. Otherwise, you, and your household, and all that you have, shall become destitute. 12And you can see, and so can the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is I that speaks to you.”’ 13And you shall tell my father of all honor accorded to me in Egypt, and about all that you have seen; and you must hurry and bring my father down here.” 14And he fell upon his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept; and Benjamin wept upon his neck. 15Moreover, he kissed all his brothers, and wept over them; and after that, his brothers talked with him.

16And this report was heard in Pharaoh's house: “Joseph's brothers have come;” and it pleased Pharaoh and his servants well. 17And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘This do: load your animals, and go to the land of Canaan; 18And get your father and your households, and come to me; and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat the fat of the land.’ 19Now you are also directed to do this: take carts from the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come. 20And never mind your belongings; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.” 21And the children of Israel did so; and Joseph gave them carts, as commanded by Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the trip. 22He gave to each man changes of clothes; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of clothes. 23And to his father he sent the following: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten she-donkeys loaded with grain and food for his father along the way. 24So he sent his brothers off, and as they departed, he said to them, “See that you do not quarrel about this along the way.”

25And they left Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan to Jacob, their father, 26And they told him, Joseph is yet alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” And Jacob was stunned and almost numb as he tried to process this startling news. 27And then they related to him all the words that Joseph had said to them; and when he saw the carts which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob revived. 28And Israel (Jacob) said, “It is enough; Joseph, my son is yet alive; I will go and see him before I die.”
