Joshua 16

1And the lot of the descendants of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho, to the springs of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho throughout Mount Bethel, 2And then goes out from Bethel to Luz, and passes along to the territory of Archi (Arkites) to Ataroth, 3And then it goes westward down to the border of Japhleti, to the border of Beth-horon the lower, and to Gezer: and ends at the Mediterranean Sea.

4So the descendants of Joseph, Manasseh, and Ephraim, took their inheritance. 5And the border of the descendants of Ephraim, according to their families, was this: their inheritance on the east side was At-aroth-addar, to Beth-horon the upper; 6Then the border went toward the Mediterranean Sea to Michmethah on the north side; and the border then went eastward to Taanath-shiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janoah; 7And it went down from Janoah to Ataroth, and to Naarah, and touched Jericho, and came out at the Jordan. 8Then it went out from Tappuah westward to the Kanah Ravine; and ended at the Mediterranean Sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe, the descendants of Ephraim, by their clans. 9And the separate cities for the progeny of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the progeny of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages. 10But they failed to drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer; and the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, and have become slaves to do forced labor.
