A Song of degrees.

1When the LORD returned the exiles to Zion (Jerusalem), we were like those in a dream. 2Then we were filled with laughter, and with singing; and other nations said, “The LORD has done great things for them.” 3The LORD has indeed done great things for us; for which we are most thankful. 4Restore the prosperity of our exiles, O LORD, like the streams in the south. 5Those who planted with tears shall reap with joy. 6Those who go forth weeping, bearing precious seed, shall surely return with shouts of joy, as they bring in the sheaves.
