A Prayer of David.

1Hear and answer my prayer, O LORD; for I am afflicted and in need. 2Preserve my soul; for I rely upon You, O my God; save Your servant who trusts in You. 3Be merciful to me, O LORD; for I call unto You daily. 4Let Your servant’s soul rejoice; for I lift it up unto You, O LORD. 5For You, LORD, are gracious and ready to forgive; and abound in mercy to all who call upon You. 6Hear my prayer, O LORD; and attend to my supplications. 7In the day of my trouble I will call upon You; for You will answer me. 8There is none like You, O LORD; nor are there any accomplishments like Yours. 9All nations, whom You have created, shall come and worship before You, O LORD; and shall glorify Your name. 10For You are great, and do wondrous things; You, alone, are the Creator God. 11Teach me Your way, O LORD; that I may walk in Your truth; give me an undivided heart to reverence Your name. 12I will praise You, O LORD my God, with all my heart, and I will glorify Your name for evermore. 13For great is Your love and mercy toward me; and You have rescued my soul from the depths of sheol. 14O God, the arrogant have risen against me, and the mobs of violent men have sought my life; and they have no regard for You. 15But You, O LORD, are a God full of compassion, graciousness, patience, abounding in mercy and truth. 16Oh, look upon me with mercy; give Your servant Your strength, and save the son of Your maidservant. 17Send me a sign of Your favor, that those who hate me may see it, and be put to shame; because You, LORD, have helped me, and comforted me.
