Some actions are doubtful; in this case compliance is sinful, because it discovers — 1. A contempt of God's authority and favour. 2. Light views of the evil of sin. 3. A great want of self-denial and resolution. 4. Some prevailing bad principle or motive of action. 5. And leads to greater irregularities. II. SOME PRACTICAL REFLECTIONS. 1. How aggravated the guilt of presumptuous sin. 2. We should show a tender regard for others that we do not lead them into sin. 3. In all doubtful cases it is best to keep on the safe side. (J.
