Moses descended from Mount Sinai after receiving the LORD’s covenant message. He served as God’s appointed mediator, carrying the words of the holy God to a redeemed people. Moses first gathered Israel’s recognized leaders, who represented the tribes and households before the nation. Their participation provided ordered leadership as Israel was formed into a covenant people. God’s later provision for elders in Israel and the church reflects the continuing need for faithful leaders who receive, preserve, and communicate God’s instruction.

Moses presented the full message God had given, including the LORD’s reminder of Israel’s deliverance from Egypt and His call for them to become His treasured possession, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. He did not reshape the revelation to suit the people’s preferences. Those entrusted with spiritual leadership must likewise pass on God’s truth faithfully.
