and the sash of finely spun linen,

The sash completed the priestly attire and was woven from the same fine linen used throughout the sacred garments. Linen’s cleanliness and brightness suited those set apart to minister before the holy God, anticipating the righteousness required of all who draw near to Him.

Blue, purple, and scarlet also adorned the tabernacle curtains and veil, linking the priesthood directly to the sanctuary where God met with His people. Blue reflected the heavenly character of Israel’s worship, purple conveyed royal dignity, and scarlet recalled the blood required for atonement. The priest bore these colors as a servant of the heavenly King and mediator for a people needing cleansing.

just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

Israel’s craftsmen followed the divine pattern in every detail, demonstrating that worship must be ordered by God rather than human preference. Moses faithfully oversaw the work entrusted to him, and the completed garments testified to Israel’s covenant obedience. Christ fulfilled this obedience perfectly, serving as the holy and royal High Priest who brings His people into God’s presence.

Lev 8:9 Moses also put the turban on Aaron’s head…
Exo 12:28 And the Israelites went and did just what the LORD commanded…
