Israel’s redemption also serves God’s purpose of bringing blessing to the families of the earth through the promised Messiah. The return from Babylon provides an immediate fulfillment, but the worldwide scope reaches beyond that event. Through Christ, the message of salvation goes from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth, as the risen Lord commissioned His disciples to bear witness among all nations. God’s salvation includes deliverance from bondage, restoration to fellowship with Him, and ultimate rescue from sin and death. The LORD remains “our God,” showing that exile does not cancel His covenant commitment to His people. The redemption promised here finds its fullest fulfillment in Jesus Christ, whose saving work is proclaimed to all who believe.
