Ascribe Glory to the LORD 1 Ascribe to the LORD {YHWH}, O heavenly beings (sons of God),a ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 2Ascribe to the LORD {YHWH} the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness (in holy attire).b 3The voice of the LORD {YHWH} is over the waters; the God of glory thunders; the LORD is heard over many waters. 4The voice of the LORD {YHWH} is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic. 5The voice of the LORD {YHWH} breaks the cedars; the LORD shatters the cedars of Lebanon (whiteness). 6He makes Lebanon (whiteness) skip like a calf, and Sirion (Mount Hermon)c like a young wild ox. 7The voice of the LORD {YHWH} 8The voice of the LORD {YHWH} shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh (holy). 9The voice of the LORD {YHWH} twists the oaks (LORD makes the deer to calve)d and strips the forests bare. And in His temple all cry, “Glory!” 10The LORD {YHWH} sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever. 11The LORD {YHWH} gives His people strength; the LORD blesses His people with peace.
