The Destroyers of Jerusalem Destroyed

1Behold, a day of YHWH is coming, and your plunder will be divided in your midst, 2and I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. And the city will be captured, and the houses plundered, and the women ravished; and half of the city will go forth into exile, and the remnant of the people will not be cut off from the city.

3And YHWH will go forth, and He will do battle against those nations, as in the day of His fighting in a day of battle. 4And His feet will stand on that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is upon the face of Jerusalem from the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split, from half of it on the east and on the west, a very great valley; and half of the mountain will move toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5And you⁺ will flee by the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azal; and you⁺ will flee, as when you⁺ fled from the face of the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. And YHWH my God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.†

6And it will come to pass on that day, that there will not be light, cold, or frost. 7And it will be a unique day—it is known to YHWH—with no day and no night, and it will come to pass at the time of evening, that there will be light.

8And it will come to pass, in that day, that will go forth living waters from Jerusalem—half of them toward the Eastern Sea,† and half of them toward the Western Sea;† in the summer and in the winter it will come to pass. 9And YHWH will be King over all the earth; in that day YHWH will be one, and His name one.

10All the land will be turned into a plain, from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem, and she will be raised up and dwell in her place, from the Gate of Benjamin to the place of the First Gate, to the Gate of the Corner, and from the Tower of Hananel to the winepresses of the king. 11And they will dwell in her, and there will be utter destruction no longer, and Jerusalem will dwell in safety.

12And this will be the plague with which YHWH will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: The rotting of his flesh, and he is standing on his feet; his eyes will rot in their sockets, and the tongue will rot in their mouth.

13And it will come to pass, in that day, that there will be a great panic from YHWH among them, and each man will seize the hand of his neighbor, and will raise his hand against the hand of his neighbor. 14And also Judah will fight in Jerusalem, and the wealth of all the nations round about will be gathered together—gold, and silver, and garments, in great abundance. 15And so will be the plague on the horse, the mule, the camel, and the donkey, and on all the cattle that may be in those camps, as this plague.

All Nations Will Worship the King
(Leviticus 23:33–44; Nehemiah 8:13–18)

16And it will come to pass that everyone remaining from all the nations coming against Jerusalem will go up, year by year, to bow down to the King, YHWH of Hosts, and to keep the feast of Booths.† 17And it will come to pass that whoever does not go up from the families of the earth to Jerusalem, to bow down to the King, YHWH of Hosts, there will not be on them rain. 18And if the family of Egypt does not go up and does not go in, then it is not upon them; this will be the plague with which YHWH strikes the nations who do not come up to celebrate the feast of Booths. 19This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to celebrate the feast of Booths.

20On that day it will be on the bells of the horses: HOLY TO YHWH. And the pots in the house of YHWH will be like the bowls before the altar. 21And every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be a holy thing to YHWH of hosts; and everyone sacrificing will come and will take from them and will cook in them. And there will be no longer a Canaanite† in the house of YHWH of hosts on that day.
