ContextCitizenship in Heaven
…18For many walk, of whom I have told you often (and now tell you weeping) that they are enemies of the cross of Christ: 19Whose end is destruction: whose God is their belly: and whose glory is in their shame: who mind earthly things. 20But our conversation is in heaven: from whence also we look for the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ,…
But we will certainly do every word that shall proceed out of our own mouth, to sacrifice to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we and our fathers have done, our kings, and our princes in the cities of Juda, and in the streets of Jerusalem: and we were filled with bread, and it was well with us, and we saw no evil.
What fruit therefore had you then in those things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of them is death.
For they that are according to the flesh mind the things that are of the flesh: but they that are according to the spirit mind the things that are of the spirit.
For they that are such serve not Christ our Lord but their own belly: and by pleasing speeches and good words seduce the hearts of the innocent.
Mind the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth.
2 Thessalonians 1:9
Who shall suffer eternal punishment in destruction, from the face of the Lord and from the glory of his power:
2 Timothy 3:4

One of them a prophet of their own, said: The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, slothful bellies.
But these men blaspheme whatever things they know not: and what things soever they naturally know, like dumb beasts, in these they are corrupted.
Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own confusion: wandering stars, to whom the storm of darkness is reserved for ever.
