1Finally, brothers, pray for us, so that the word of the Lord might spread rapidly (run wide-open/as quickly as possible) and might be glorified, just as also with you; 2And so that we may be delivered away from out of place (perverse, improper, strange, not ordinary, unsuitable because warped, latin-inportunis-unreasonable- root is dangerous) and evil (poneron) men; for not all are of the faith. 3However, faithful is the Lord, who will confirm you and will guard (keep watch, keep secure) you away from the evil [one]. 4And we have confidence in the Lord upon you, because you are doing and will do the things that we command. 5May the Lord direct (make straight, make to go straight by the most direct route) your hearts into (unto) the love of God and into (unto) the endurance of Christ.

6Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to withdraw (arrange, restrain) yourselves away from every brother walking disorderly (unruly, breaking rank, also unproductive because lacking order) and not according to the tradition that you received from us. 7For you yourselves know how it is necessary to imitate us, because we were not out of order among (in) you; 8Nor did we eat bread from anyone without giving (payment), but rather in labor and hardship, working night and day not to be burdensome upon any of you. 9Not that we do not have the authority, but rather so that we may offer ourselves as a type (example) to you to imitate us. 10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if anyone is not willing to work, do not let him eat. 11For we hear that some are walking among (in) you disorderly (idly, unproductively), not working, but rather being busybodies (wasting one’s labor about a thing, being fixated on what others do instead of doing what they are supposed to). 12Now to such, we command and entreat in our Lord Jesus Christ, so that working with quietness (calmness, stillness, silence, latin-silentio) they may eat their own bread. 13And you, brothers, do not grow weary (be bad at, ekkakeo-from out of inwardly bad, latin-deficere-fail-root is deficient) in well-doing (latin-benefacientes-doing well like being beneficial).

14And if anyone does not comply with our word through this letter, take note (mark) of that one not to mix with (associate intimately with, keep company with, mix-closely-together to influence) him so that he might be ashamed (in to turn, in a state of turning, recoiled, turned about, turn ones attention to in a riveted way, latin-confundatur-confused-root is confound). 15And yet do not suppose (esteem, count, lead) him an enemy, but rather admonish him as a brother.

16Now may the Lord of peace give you peace through all in every way (manner). The Lord be with all you.
