| 19We also have the word of the prophets as confirmed beyond doubt. | 20Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture comes from one’s own interpretation. | 20First of all, you should know this: No prophecy of Scripture comes from one's own interpretation, |
| 21For no such prophecy was ever brought forth by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. | 21because no prophecy ever came by the will of man; instead, men spoke from God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. |
