Berean Study Bible | International Standard Version |
Rejoice in the LORD, O righteous ones; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him. | 1Rejoice in the LORD, righteous ones; for the praise of the upright is beautiful. |
Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to Him with ten strings. | 2With the lyre, give thanks to the LORD; with the ten stringed harp, play music to him; |
Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy. | 3with a new song, sing to him; with shouts of joy, play skillfully. |
For the word of the LORD is upright, and all His work is trustworthy. | 4For the word of the LORD is upright; and all his works are done in faithfulness. |
The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His loving devotion. | 5He loves righteousness and justice; the world is filled with the gracious love of the LORD. |
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the stars by the breath of His mouth. | 6By the word of the LORD the heavens were made; all the heavenly bodies by the breath of his mouth. |
He piles up the waters of the sea; He puts the depths into storehouses. | 7He gathered the oceans into a single place; he put the deep water into storehouses. |
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere Him. | 8Let all the world fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him; |
For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm. | 9because he spoke and it came to be, because he commanded, it stood firm. |
The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations; He thwarts the devices of the peoples. | 10The LORD makes void the counsel of nations; he frustrates the plans of peoples. |
The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the purposes of His heart to all generations. | 11But the LORD's counsel stands firm forever, the plans in his mind for all generations. |
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance! | 12How blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he has chosen as his own inheritance. |
The LORD looks down from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. | 13When the LORD looks down from heaven, he observes every human being. |
From His dwelling place He gazes on all who inhabit the earth. | 14From his dwelling place, he looks down on all the inhabitants of the earth. |
He shapes the hearts of each; He considers all their works. | 15He formed the hearts of them all; he understands everything they do. |
No king is saved by his vast army; no warrior is delivered by his great strength. | 16A king is not saved by a large army; a mighty soldier is not delivered by his great strength. |
A horse is a vain hope for salvation; even its great strength cannot save. | 17It is vain to trust in a horse for deliverance, even with its great strength, it cannot deliver. |
Surely the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His loving devotion | 18Indeed, the LORD watches those who fear him; those who trust in his gracious love |
to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. | 19to deliver them from death; to keep them alive in times of famine. |
Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. | 20We wait on the LORD; he is our help and our shield. |
For our hearts rejoice in Him, since we trust in His holy name. | 21Indeed, our heart will rejoice in him, because we have placed our trust in his holy name. |
May Your loving devotion rest on us, O LORD, as we put our hope in You. | 22LORD, may your gracious love be upon us, even as we hope in you. |
