Psalm 14
ESV Parallel NET [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
English Standard VersionNET Bible
1The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.1For the music director; by David. Fools say to themselves, "There is no God." They sin and commit evil deeds; none of them does what is right.
2The LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.2The LORD looks down from heaven at the human race, to see if there is anyone who is wise and seeks God.
3They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.3Everyone rejects God; they are all morally corrupt. None of them does what is right, not even one!
4Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the LORD?4All those who behave wickedly do not understand--those who devour my people as if they were eating bread, and do not call out to the LORD.
5There they are in great terror, for God is with the generation of the righteous.5They are absolutely terrified, for God defends the godly.
6You would shame the plans of the poor, but the LORD is his refuge.6You want to humiliate the oppressed, even though the LORD is their shelter.
7Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.7I wish the deliverance of Israel would come from Zion! When the LORD restores the well-being of his people, may Jacob rejoice, may Israel be happy!
