English Standard Version | New Living Translation |
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. | 1The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. |
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. | 2He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. |
He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. | 3He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. |
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. | 4Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. |
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. | 5You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. |
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. | 6Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. |
