Holman Christian Standard Bible | New International Version |
For the choir director. A Davidic psalm. LORD, how long will You forget me? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? | 1For the director of music. A psalm of David. How long, LORD? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? |
How long will I store up anxious concerns within me, agony in my mind every day? How long will my enemy dominate me? | 2How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me? |
Consider me and answer, LORD my God. Restore brightness to my eyes; otherwise, I will sleep in death. | 3Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, |
My enemy will say, "I have triumphed over him," and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken. | 4and my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall. |
But I have trusted in Your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance. | 5But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. |
I will sing to the LORD because He has treated me generously. | 6I will sing the LORD's praise, for he has been good to me. |
