| 1Therefore, as long as the promise of entering his rest remains valid, let us be afraid! Otherwise, some of you will fail to reach it, | 1Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. |

| 14Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us live our lives consistent with our confession of faith. | 14Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. |
| 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses. Instead, we have one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet he never sinned. | 15For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. |
| 16So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. | 16Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. |
